With years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Jenna Smith has dedicated their career to helping patients achieve their maximum physical potential and improve their quality of life.

The movements are smaller and more precise than yoga flows. There is also greater emphasis on core control and stability during Pilates exercises. Finally, instructors play a bigger hands-on role in manually cueing proper form and alignment.

​The most recent addition to my training repertoire is Yoga. There are many styles and lineages of Yoga that are beneficial to both the human body and the human experience. I have focused my practice on The Baron Baptiste Vinyasa style and decided to take the next step and complete his 200 RYT in February of 2019.

Pilates can support your quest to eat healthy, as it has a mindfulness component that can help you make more conscious choices about the food you eat.

So what do we mean by toned? The term ‘toned’ can have different meanings for different people. Some people use it to mean looking long and lean whilst others use it to mean having good muscle definition. We might also think of it as having a firmer body rather than a softer one.

Strength training exercises help build muscle mass, while reducing overall body fat through a combination of a healthy diet and cardio exercises, can make muscles appear more toned.

It gives me step by step video with warm up/cool down. I need someone to tell me what exercises to do- LOVE it! This may be 15 minutes but it works me out good! Some of the exercises kick my tail though!

The key is consistency. Practicing Pilates regularly allows those small gains to add up to visible change over time.

Tone refers to the amount of tension in a muscle at rest. Resting muscle tone is a spectrum and very high or very low muscle tone could be problematic as in the medical world it could indicate a problem with the brain and nervous system. This is quite different to the concept of tone when we are thinking about exercise and aesthetics.

Strengthening exercise to increase the amount of muscle you have is also valuable, since muscle tissue uses more energy than fat.

Pilates can be a valuable tool in this journey towards toned muscles, as it helps build muscle mass and can improve overall body strength.

When your breathing works properly, so does the core. When the core muscles work well, so do your other muscles. We can think of it like links in a chain, where each muscle function is interconnected with the next.

When people talk about wanting to get "toned," they’re usually looking for more muscle definition without added bulk. That look comes from building lean muscle while reducing body fat.

When comparing the Pilates body to the gym body, many factors come club poses into play, including individual goals, skill level, and personal preferences. Some people may find that they enjoy one form of exercise more than the other, making it easier to stick with consistently.
